Ford ramps up production of F-150 Lightning in pursuit of dominance in the electric pickup market
One of the largest automakers intends to become a leader in the market of mass-produced electric pickups. Ford CEO Jim Farley said the company plans to scale production faster than competitors.
Ford expects to ramp up production capacity in Michigan to 150,000 units a year from the current 40,000. The company said it has been able to establish a supply of lithium-ion batteries, which will ensure stable production.
