Intel has officially announced that it will discontinue production of its new 1000 series ASIC Blocksale chips, which were designed for mining. The manufacturer introduced these chips just over a year ago.

"Our main focus now is on investing in IDM 2.0, so we are winding down the Blocksale project. But we will continue to support our customers with these chips," the company added.
