IRS believes NFTs should be taxable

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has stated in their announcement that according to their own analysis, NFT is a collector's item.

And in their view, NFT should be taxed in the same way as stamps of all kinds, works of art and wines.

"For example, a gemstone is a collector's item, accordingly, an NFT certifying its ownership is also considered a collector's item," the statement said.
