The US Department of Justice reported on the destruction of the Qakbot botnet and the seizure of $8.6 million in cryptocurrencies.

The operation was able to access Qakbot's infrastructure and identified more than 700,000 computers worldwide, including more than 200,000 in the US, that were infected.

The DOJ also said that all $8.6 million that was seized will be returned to the victims.
