Under a government program, every British resident must reduce his or her daily water consumption by a quarter by 2050, from 145 liters a day to 110 liters a day.

Experts predict that in 25 years the kingdom will need an additional 4 billion liters of water per day to supply the population with water.

British authorities have decided to build the first water storage tank since 1992, which is expected to be ready by 2029.
