Great Eastern Takaful's Game-Changing Quest for Financial Literacy Records
Great Eastern Takaful, via mySalam, launches Kahoot! Bijak Wang Challenge in Penang to set a record for the largest financial literacy quiz in Malaysia.

In an ambitious venture to enhance financial literacy, Great Eastern Takaful Bhd (GETB), under the mySalam scheme, embarks on a mission to establish a new benchmark in financial education throughout Malaysia. Their Kahoot! Bijak Wang Challenge aims to assemble 10,000 participants at Penang’s Queensbay Mall from November 14 to 16.
A Record-Breaking Initiative
The goal of this initiative is not just participation, but to etch a new world record as the largest-ever financial literacy quiz on Malaysian soil. The event forms a central part of the Celik Kewangan Carnival, organized by the Financial Education Network (FEN) and Bank Negara Malaysia.
Interactive Learning through Gamification
Syuhaib Ithnin, Head of mySalam, emphasizes the importance of this challenge: “Engaging and innovative educational methods are of utmost importance.” The quiz will stimulate learning in risk management, financial planning, and investment strategies through the exciting format of gamification.
Giving Back to the Community
The event is more than just a quiz. It also includes the noble gesture of donating 300 food baskets valued at RM12,000 to support underprivileged families. This initiative is a collaboration between the Malaysian Takaful Association and mySalam. Additionally, RM10,000 worth of books, donated by the Financial Services Library of Bank Negara Malaysia, will be distributed to encourage reading and broaden financial knowledge among students.
Celebrating Community Engagement at the 3K Carnival
The announcement for the Kahoot! challenge was made at the 3K Carnival in Johor, which offered a series of activities like the Financial Squid Game, free health checks, and sporting events—a clear reflection of the carnival’s goal to connect with the B40 community.
Building Financial Awareness Through Collaborative Efforts
Since its inception in 2019, mySalam has brought significant benefits to over 1.77 million Malaysians, disbursing RM1.27 billion in claims. To expand its impact, the deadline for 2024 eligibility claims has been extended until December 2025.
The 3K Carnival and the Kahoot! Challenge are exemplary efforts made possible through collective collaboration among agencies such as the Ministry of Finance, Great Eastern Takaful, and others, serving as a beacon of financial literacy and community enrichment in Malaysia.
Get ready for a historic initiative that blends education, community service, and entertainment into ‘gamified’ learning that promises long-term benefits for Malaysians. As stated in bernama, this undertaking is a testament to bridging economic understanding through an engaging and interactive approach.
