Revolutionizing Finance Education: Carnival's Exclusive Outreach in Tawau

TAWAU (July 6): In a spectacular stride towards financial empowerment, the Financial Education Network (FEN) has successfully unfurled its flagship event, Karnival Celik Kewangan (KCK), in Tawau for the very first time. Garnering an enthusiastic turnout of over 6,000 visitors, this carnival has not only set a precedent but also painted a promising future for financial literacy in the region.

A Grand Opening

On July 5th and 6th, the atmosphere in Tawau was charged with excitement, as the carnival was inaugurated by Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid, Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and Co-Chair of the FEN. His words resonated deeply with attendees as he highlighted the imperative nature of financial literacy in navigating today’s rapidly evolving economic landscape.

Engaging Through Digital Illumination

Marking a landmark achievement, KCK drew in audiences from all corners through a pioneering 24-hour TikTok live stream. This innovative initiative, co-hosted by mySalam, FEN, and the Malaysian Takaful Association, captured the attention of 3.2 million viewers and amassed an impressive 12,000 comments, setting a record in Malaysia Book of Records. The platform provided an array of interactive financial tutorials, broadening the reach of financial education.

More Than Just Numbers

Beyond financial insights, KCK incorporated the MTA Takaful4All Fun Run, gathering 570 passionate participants. This run articulated a dual-message: the synergy between financial knowledge and physical well-being, essential for a holistic life approach.

A Tour de Force in Financial Literacy

Embarking on a week-long educational journey, FEN’s roadshow reached diverse locales, including Lahad Datu, Kunak, and Pulau Bum Bum. These expeditions emphasized practical financial wisdom, catering to unique local challenges such as budgeting and debt management, truly embodying community-centric education.

Insights Shaping the Future

Feedback gathered from these engagements is pivotal. It not only unveils community-specific financial hurdles but also carves the path for future interventions, tailored to foster resilience.

Unyielding Dedication

Reflecting on KCK Tawau’s triumph, Adnan stated, “KCK Tawau reflects what FEN stands for – bringing financial literacy to life in practical, inclusive ways. We are steadfast in our mission to empower the rakyat inclusively and continuously.”

Established back in 2016, FEN pools resources from illustrious bodies like the Ministry of Education and Bank Negara Malaysia, functioning as a cornerstone to enhance financial literacy through collaborative efforts and critical assessments.

As stated in Borneo Post, the collaborative framework exemplified by FEN has positioned Malaysia as a beacon of financial education innovation.

KCK Tawau stands as a testament to unity in mission, propelling both awareness and practical skills, and ensuring that no Malaysian is left behind in the financial education arena.
