Hundreds of thousands of Twitter users (0.03% of the total number of active users) deactivated their accounts. This happened after the announcement of the takeover of the social network by Ilon Musk. This was reported by the company.

According to Social Blade, the total number of users on Twitter remained almost unchanged. The news about the purchase of the company, in addition to the negative reaction, also provoked many users to return to the social network or register new accounts.

For example, Taylor Swift's account suffered one of the biggest declines - the outflow of 15 thousand followers. Meanwhile, Republican Ted Cruz's readership grew by 60,000.
