Thailand's opposition leader Srettha Thavisin is promising a $300 (10,000 Thai Baht) drop in digital currency to every citizen of the country if he is elected prime minister.

Tavisin argues that such an initiative would provide some economic relief for Thais, as the country is now trapped with one of the highest household debts in the region.
