The tax-exempt amount for the sale of apartments and country houses is to be increased from 1 million to 3 million rubles if new housing is purchased instead. The initiative of major real estate companies has already been supported by the State Duma.

Today the personal income tax is charged if the sale occurred within five years from the date of possession. However, over the past two years alone, real estate prices have increased by up to 60%, making it even more difficult to solve the housing problem for many families, experts say.
