The Thai government provides value-added tax exemptions for digital asset transactions until December 31, 2023.

The proposal was approved on May 24. Transactions in cryptocurrencies and tokens would be exempt from value-added tax on trading platforms registered by the Ministry of Finance. The main goal of the initiative is to facilitate cryptocurrency trading on regulated exchanges so that authorized bodies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand, can control and monitor transactions involving cryptoassets.
