The Central Bank of Ukraine today devalued its national currency to strengthen the country's economy. Now the hryvnya exchange rate is about 36.56 per dollar (previously it was 29.25).

The bank said that the change in the exchange rate will increase the inflow of foreign currency by exporters and minimize "speculative behavior of market participants.
