Vaccination rate in China slows as COVID outbreak continues - could threaten economic recovery

In the last week of March, China recorded 770,000 booster shots per day. By mid-April, however, the figure had fallen to 590,000. Jin Dong-yan, a virologist at Hong Kong College, believes that the decline reflects the elderly population's distrust of vaccines.

If the vaccination rate in the PRC stays at current levels, 90% of the country's elderly population will not be fully vaccinated until September.
